Friday Five: Turning it around

Something a little different this week: five quick questions for you guys (mostly either/or ones, but I reckon the way you answer reveals a lot about you)!

TP. Do you go for what’s cheapest, or splurge on the nice stuff?
I have a couple of brands toward the cheap end of the range I rely on, but if the likes of Purex has a good sale price, I’ll fork out for it.

Do you need 8 hours’ sleep a night, or do you get by on less?
I’ve always been one of those people that needs lots of sleep. Without a full night of rest, I am not a happy camper. In that sense, I take after my mum, not my dad.

Rollercoasters. Love them or hate them?
Hate heights, hate being upside down. I’ve been on a couple in my life and think I’m done.

Spicy food. Yay or nay?
I looove spicy food. However, my tolerance only goes up to medium heat at most. I also can’t have it too often, because once it gets past my esophagus, let’s just say the rest of me isn’t so enamored with spice. And I usually can’t exercise that day without feeling ill.

What’s your favourite physical feature?
I have good legs, though they bruise easily.

You?

I was hooked on Purex ever since I got a free sample roll from them last year. Never again will I buy the cheaper stuff and risk poking my fingers through them, if you know what I mean ( ・_・) I can get by on 6 hrs of sleep, and love roller-coasters but nay on the spicy foods (>.<)

Ugh I’m so bad with sleep! I get around 4 a night. But on the weekends I probably get around 18, so that’s not good.

TP: nice stuff. I can afford a few extra bucks for some comfort there.
Sleep: I need 10 hours. I usually get ~6 because I am addicted to staying up late, doing nothing.
Roller coasters: after a lifetime of being deathly afraid of the ones that go upside-down, I made myself brave one at 14 and loved it. I hate those swingy-boat things (make me nauseated) and most of the crazy ones at traveling fairs (they seem SO dangerous!). At heart, I am an intrepid adventurer, but it only busts out when I allow my heart to override my brain, which isn’t often.
Spicy food: I can’t bear even the slightest hint of heat, but I love food that usually comes in spicy flavor, esp. thai. I just have to order the mild versions…”no spicy” is what I usually say, with emphatic hand gestures.
Favorite physical feature: I don’t have one for myself, is that bad? I probably get the most compliments on my long blonde hair out of any other physical attribute, even though it just goes in a ponytail every day. When I was younger it was nearly white, but it has gotten a little darker since then. Hairdressers are crazy about it and tell me that millions of people pay mega-bucks to dye their hair the color that is my natural color. Thanks, German genes!

    Fun!

    – I’m a Quilton 3-ply girl – can’t really use the cheap Aldi stuff anymore.
    – Weekdays, I can get by with 6 or 7 but I still crash on the weekends & take endless naps.
    – Love roller coasters! The worst (best) one I’ve been on is the upside-down one in Universal Studios in Singapore (the red one).
    – I’m probably one of the few Asians that can’t stand spicy food!
    – Boobs probably. (Or at least the hubby will say so)

I never go for the cheap stuff, I never pay retail either. I tend to “invest” in good clothes/shoes, but have very few of them. Quality vs. quantity. I rarely sleep more than 7 hours and never straight through. I do fine with 6-7 hours sleep per nite. Amusement parks do nothing for me, so I rarely go. I usually avoid roller coasters and anything that places me upside down or out of control. I love a little spicy food, particularly Chinese, Thai, Mexican food. My favorite physical feature is my hair! The fact I have almost all of it at my age (65 y.o.) is unusual. I even like the gray/white color. Compared to my former dark brown, it is almost blonde like.
