Thank god for the weekend!
The low of my week was a work-related thing, and finishing Firefly 🙁 On the plus side, Scandal is back. (Fellow Nathan Fillion fans, should I give Castle a go? I adore Bones, if that helps)
The high of my week was receiving our first produce box (we’re trying out a local delivery service. Will write about it once we’ve got a few weeks under the belt).
My plans this weekend include going for a long overdue run. Oh yes. I gotta step it up on the health front (and made a good effort this week, eating lentils for lunch almost every day)
This time last year we were in New York and Washington DC. *wishful sigh*

We rewatch Firefly A LOT. I can’t accept that it’s over…. *sob*
But I would say if you enjoyed Nathan Fillion a lot in Firefly, then go on to Castle for fun. Don’t expect much from the plots necessarily, people who focus on the actual police work would probably be annoyed 🙂 I just enjoy the cast interplay.
I am a long-time Buffy and Joss Whedon fan and if you’ve seen it, you know that Nathan Fillion plays a real creep in the final season. So much so that I boycotted everything he did for a while thereafter. I finally caved and gave Castle a shot, and I think it should tell you everything you need to know that it was based on how good and charming he is on that that I actually agreed to give Firefly a try (I do not like sci-fi or westerns, in general, so the two together is kind of my cryptonite). I still can’t get into Firefly, but I do love Castle, which is superior to Bones in essentially every way (a show I can only watch when multitasking, because giving it my full attention generally leaves me cranky). Give it a try for sure!
I’m not into vampires or monsters, but so far Joss Whedon has proved he can tackle basically anything and I will adore it. And I am a sucker for all his leading men.
I liked Firefly, and I love Castle (although I’m thinking the current season got off to a rough start). It’s worth giving it a try, especially with the older seasons! I mostly enjoy the banter between the team, and you can count on Nathan/Castle to bring lots of comedic relief. I’ve never been able to get into Bones.
I love lentils! They’re so filling, tasty, and cheap. We rotate them through for our lunches when we’re not having quinoa or rice-n-beans. Yum.
