Why does my dog eat everything???

Steal. Eat. Repeat.

  • Tea towels
  • Shoes
  • Socks
  • Bras
  • Undies
  • Phone
  • Remote
  • Earphones
  • Tampons
  • Cotton buds
  • Ice block sticks

Things got a LOTย better after the first couple of months, but every so often she still surprises us …

Hannah dig used to regularly chew holes in bedding: sheets, duvet covers, and duvets. Since moving she seems to have given this habit up. *fingers crossed* she enjoys chewing (and eating!) cardboard tubes from toilet tissue and paper towels so much that I pretty much give her one regularly as a “treat.” Hey, it’s free and she enjoys it, so why not?

We used to do that with childhood dogs! The first time I reflexively handed Seamus and JuggerBaby each a tube, he gave me the weirdest look ๐Ÿ˜€

I’ve done this once or twice – maybe I’ll do it more often ๐Ÿ™‚

Lol! I want a dog so bad but my husband is being quite stubborn. I guess if we do get one, I should prepare myself, huh?

Yeah make sure he doesn’t leave socks or electronics within reach! This one seems to think he can train her to leave them alone … I think it’s a doomed and expensive experiment…

Haha…I used to have a dog that would chew up my underwear while I slept!! I’d go to sleep in a tank top and a thong and wake up with no underwear. I think the only thing on your list that’s been left untouched in the 10 years I’ve been a dog owner is my phone. Somehow they know not to touch the phones, even if we leave them in convenient places.

Honestly I was expecting a lot worse when I clicked through ๐Ÿ˜€ Dogs are gross. They’re lucky they make up for it by being cute.

We had a dalmatian that would eat everything in sight. When we had her spayed she passed a bra while at the vet clinic and the technician asked if we’d like it back…

I thought that it was peculiar that my dog – under my care – was chewing on my pairs of soiled socks like it belonged to him. *shakes head* I was even more surprised when he started ransacking the trash bin, to the point of knocking it down once, just to chew on used tissue papers.

Not sure why, but his interest is piqued as long as it’s used, sigh.

Hahahaha sorry I shouldn’t laugh but dogs do make me giggle. My old dog “Hooch” chewed two legs off my mums table throughout the night when I was a kid still living at home. That was the week after he had chewed the corner of every one of her kitchen cupboards. Yeah, she loved me bringing that dog home without seeking permission first!

The first tampon my dog dug out of the trash was a treat for sure. Gross. I’ve finally found toys that he won’t destroy (one being the Goughnut maxx stick) but he finds it quite boring unfortunately. My socks, underwear, shoes, blankets are more interesting.

Our cat is similarly naughty like that, so we keep as much out of his reach – in our closed bedroom, or in drawers / cupboards.

So many! My dog always chew slippers! And, I think I have bought 4 pairs slippers for the past 6 months!

Oh man – our dog was super into socks. But he was also really into people’s toes when they were barefoot, so it was like a natural progression.

On the upside, now I have children, who unpacked 2 entire boxes of tampons – one in the car on the way home, and one in my bathroom cabinet – about 6 months ago. I STILL find unwrapped tampons in the car occasionally. And when we were moving – we kept finding them tucked under cushions and behind furniture.

What? No sunglasses? Well…I’d call that a very restrained and conservative dog. ๐Ÿ˜€

One of my dogs quietly kiped a pair of very expensive fashion sunglasses out of a friend’s purse and turned them into very expensive fashionable plastic confetti.

Same dog ate the arm off a brand-new leather chair. Fortunately the company that sold it knew a repair outfit. They replaced the damaged part so that it was indistinguishable from the rest of the chair. But…it wasn’t cheap.

Still…dogs are usually less destructive than cats. In one of our houses, the cats destroyed THOUSANDS of dollars worth of carpeting.
