Link love (Powered by band-aids and coconut ice cream)

nzmuse link love roundupI’m curious: Among the couples out there, do you both always get sick when one of you does? How do you cope?

If you don’t always both get sick … how?! Is having a spare bedroom the answer?

As I write this, it’s the middle of the week and I’m still not over whatever it is that’s had me sick for nearly 2 weeks. Guh. By the time you read this, hopefully I will have been to Webstock in Wellington and had a blast and learned lots – it’s a conference I’ve always dreamed of going to. Yeah?

Aw man I’m sorry you’re still sick! I was wondering if you’d recovered yet.

We do stay the hell away from each other when PiC brings home virii. Also no sharing of any glasses or utensils (which we normally do casually), lots of hand washing and sometimes banishment (or retreat) to the sofa depending on whose going there. I am a bit terrified that we’re going to be that household where everyone is laid out when one person gets sick now that LB is in the mix.

Sorry to hear you’re sick. DH and I never catch each other’s illnesses. I honestly have no idea how. Last December, DH had the flu for the first time in our 10 years together. I slept on the couch the whole time and wore a mask whenever I was near him. If it’s anything else, we don’t change anything about our routine. I was sick the entire month of January – two colds back to back – and he was fine the whole time.

I’m sorry to hear you’re sick–ugh. Mr. Frugalwoods and I actually don’t always get sick at the same time. I’m not sure how because we never sleep apart, but I just chalk it up to different immune systems.

Thank you so much for including my post on privilege–I really appreciate that.

    Hope you feel better soon!

Oh, boo! I hope you’re all better! I’m always the one getting sick, but the husband is the one who gets to stay in bed when he’s sick. It’s kind of annoying. I’m told this is pretty common place with couples?

Thanks for sharing my post, friend!!

Luckily for me Eric NEVER gets sick, and actually I only get sick maybe 1-2 times per year and never for longer than a day!

Sorry you are sick. We use vitamin C and Manuka honey at the first sign our partner is getting sick and often it works. Hopefully you were well enough to get to your conference. I am heading to Wellington next weekend, just for a fun Mummy/daughter weekend – I love Wellington.

Haha- believe it or not, I am the WAY more hardy partner, I felt the cold coming last month when everyone was getting it, but it was literally just an hour of sniffles, but R got a sore throat and lost his voice for a couple days. I do keep some space when I think he or anyone else is going down- it’s every man/woman for himself!
