Friday Five: Things I can’t live without

Solid perfume (not as strong as liquid, doesn’t get up my nose and stuff my sinuses for the rest of the day)

Skirts (Pants are so hard to get right! So many pain points, so many things that can go wrong. Waist. Butt. Length. Crotch. Cut.)

Fish oil (aka, my crack)

Carbs (I have a furious metabolism and burn through food so fast it’s not funny – I usually eat as much as T, who’s twice my weight and size. Hunger doesn’t creep up gradually on me; it hits me with an ominous rumble, and then you better get a meal into me before I go on a rampage. As much as I love veggies, they just don’t keep me going very long – and sometimes, there’s nothing but meat to hit the spot and fill you up for the rest of the day. The mileage difference for me between a vegetarian and a meat lunch is astounding).

Red lippy (I’m not much for makeup but the one thing I rarely leave the house without is lip colour [I’m incredibly pale and need to brighten up my face]. I was all about gloss in my teens, but I like not having to constantly reapply, and not getting my hair stuck to my mouth on a windy day.)

What are your five must-haves this week?

    1. Vaseline: It’s all I ever use on my lips and I also dab it under my eyes before bed sometimes.

    2. Milk: I have a big glass of cold 1% everyday.

    3. Cardigans: They not only complete an outfit, but also keep me warm in the chilly office and are easily removed once I hit the hot outdoors.

    4. Mint.com: Not sure how I survived without it, but I know I can never go back.

    5. Black tea: I drink way, way too much of this.

Are those your skirts in the photos? So pretty!

Yep! I am a sucker for cute skirts…

I have never heard of solid perfume! I also could not live without skirts and dresses. I only own two pairs of wearable pants and I avoid them.

I have never seen solid perfume! Where do you get it? Does it leave a weird film or anything on your skin?

Lush I know sells the stuff (about NZ $10 for a small stick). I suppose it does leave a layer on your skin by necessity – but I’d rather be slightly sticky (after all I’m gonna shower when I get home) than have a headache all day from normal spray perfume. I don’t put tons on – just a dab on wrists/neck.

I’ve never heard of solid perfume either and I’m a huge perfumeaholic. I’ll look for it.

    My five:
    1. Coffee
    2. Perfume
    3. Blackberry
    4. Lip gloss
    5. Pashmina scarves

Solid perfume (specifically the one in the photo) is from Lush. Handmade (not tested on animals) cosmetics. The scent karma is the best!!! 🙂

I’ve heard of and seen solid perfume, but I never considered it might help prevent my nose from getting stuffed up when I wear it! I’m going to keep that in the back of my mind 🙂

    My must haves:
1 – Tea. Green, Earl Grey, Chai, whatever!
2 – Ballet flats. I walk a lot, and heels don’t cut it!
3 – Cell phone. Sad, I know. It’s also my day planner, note pad, e-mail, calculator, etc…
4 – Bread of some form. I grew up with a commercial bakery in my house.
5 – Jeans. I do wear a lot more dresses now, but ultimately I revert back to a good worn in pair of jeans.

Ooooh yeah. I’m with you on the flats and jeans! Also the cellphone – it’s kind of the hub of my life.

I have never heard of solid perfume!! And I’m curious about the fish oil – I’ve never known anyone to take it, what’s it for? #Unenlightened

It’s said to be good for brain health, and it really boosts my energy levels/alertness. (I originally started taking it for my skin, but I don’t think it did anything to help the eczema).

Ooh I love your skirts…. if they are your skirts. And argh I love gloss but I hate how they get stuck to your lips on windy days =(

I can’t live without: friends, gloss, my guinea pig, dresses and skirts also and…. my family. <3 I realize after reading through other people's comments that some are mine are not so materialistic-related..
