You know you’re getting old when…

You know you're getting old when...Your partner points out that you’re now closer to 30 than 20

You’re no longer the ‘baby’ at work – that title goes to someone who is all of 23 years old

You want to run out and throw rocks at loud cars passing by (and at people letting off fireworks nearby)

You seek out greenery to relax in, away from city life

You crave vegetables because your body will revolt if you don’t eat healthily enough

My tag line is ‘on the quest for health, wealth and happiness’. To be fair, it does qualify that with ‘not necessarily in that order’. But health has never been first on my list, in reality. And I think maybe that needs to change a little bit. I consider myself pretty in tune with my body. It’s thankfully always been pretty low maintenance, but is definitely demanding to be heard more and more lately. Some of that is no doubt stress related, but I suspect some is simply an age thing.

I relish getting older. Number one peace of wisdom I’m learning about myself is that I have no “extra” energy like I used to. I don’t say yes to social engagements unless I actually want to go.

For some people, age is just a number and doesn’t affect their lives. Personally, I do find that age and thinking are interconnected; it’s like the older one is, the wiser and less impulsive he is. =)

Aging is what people hate to accept. I think we must still embrace it while controlling it and break the ideas that age comes with sickness and weakness. So, let’s be active and healthier this year onwards.

“You crave vegetables because your body will revolt if you don’t eat healthily enough.” This x 1000. I also started feeling old when I realized a bunch of popular musical and acting icons were younger than me.

I like getting older. Although speaking as someone who IS over 30, I hardly think 30 is “old”.

LOL! The very FIRST intimation of mortality comes when doctors and lawyers start to look like undergraduate students to you. 😀

A more apt title would have been “You know you are growing up when….”

LOL – Sorry, but I had to laugh, although I can remember thinking I was getting old as 30 was approaching. As 50 came and went I feel more alive than ever. You will get over that feeling soon, although I think the annoying load cars will be a bother forever.

When your brother informs you that your Christmas present has to be from Amazon because he has Amazon credit (he’s a student) and your first thought is, “Oohh, does Amazon have nice pots and pans to choose from?”

My body is starting to do the same thing to me. It’s so weird. And depressing. There’s still a 2 in front of my age, dang it! But that 3 is creeping ever closer…

You know you’re getting old when you’re hesitant to say how old you are. While I’m just a bit past 30, I hesitate to tell people my actual age. I usually say over 30 or early 30s. Then people are all surprised and shock when they find out my age or I’m almost the same age as them. 😉 I still like the fact that I could pass for 25 and still get asked for ID when I buy beer and wine.

You know you’re old when you remember life before the internet and actually using a pay phone to call someone.

I don’t mind the fireworks too much, but the loud cars and trucks, yeah. What are you trying to prove?
