Apartment tour

One side of the room

Other side of the room

Wall to wall cupboards - these, plus another two

Bathroom's actually quite big - the other half is all floor space

And our super awkward kitchen

The rooms are pretty small and hard to photograph in one shot, but I tried!

As you can see, the kitchen is absolutely insane – the one thing we were wary about. but otherwise, it’s a neat little place and the timing (and price) were right).

I do miss our dishwasher. Like everything else in the kitchen, the sink is tiny and the counter is really low. There’s no cutlery drawer! And I don’t know where we’ll store our pots and pans, either – maybe time to buy some hooks to hang them on?

But never mind…  we’ll just appreciate having our own home one day so much more. One with a bathtub. Dishwasher. Garage. Workshop. Walkin pantry. (None of which this place has, but it is warm, clean, well located, has TONS of wardrobe space with built in drawers, a small covered deck outside and OSP for our little car.) My parents had their house built for them, and although I’d like to do the same, land is pretty darn scarce in Auckland.

Nice built-in closets! Are you in a bachelor/studio? It looks like everything’s in one room.

OMG, that stove is so awkwardly placed. It looks like they built the kitchen and then forgot the stove so then decided to plunk one there! Well, now you can say you do your cooking “out in the open…” sort of. LOL.

Ohh the kitchen is awkward!! Other then that VERY cute!!!

@Pear Yes, it’s a studio – no separate lounge, just a little covered deck outside with picnic table. I think it’s the smallest place we’ve been in yet – the one apartment we lived in had a tiny lounge, although we hardly ever spent any time in it.

@Newbie Haha yeah, totally agree about the stove being an afterthought! Design fail.

what is OSP? outside…space? i still don’t know the RE lingo here!

ouch, that kitchen hurts me, I’m sorry. is there room for a little island or something? can you repurpose one of the wardrobe closets for the kitchen utensils (if it is close enough)?

is a super-cute space!! 🙂 congrats on movin’ on up to the East side! (and to mixed taps)

Haha, I’ve never lived anywhere WITHOUT mixed taps and refuse to – i think they’re positively barbaric.

    OSP – off street parking.

The closets are kind of on the far side of the room – i think we have a good thing going with the cutlery at the mo though, sitting in a massive tall mug. Just gotta work out how to store the bulky pots etc 🙂

OSP. I should have known that. It’s been a while since I’ve had to look, thank goodness! (knocked on wood)

I hope this place is wonderful and hassle-free!
